Many people are using it nowadays irrespective of their age and financial background. LIPSTICK though it is meant for decorating lips and thereby adding some additional attraction to the face is being used irrespective of the age of ladies, who are more particular about the beauty of their faces.
Is it really required? Young ladies are using it as a matter of fashion though they do have natural beauty in their lips. Middle aged ladies use it regularly to enrich the shine and lustre they generally lose after marriage though it is no longer required after marriage. They use irrespective of their financial capacity and use it to exhibit to others that they are still beautiful. Is there any need to attract others even after their marriage?
Instead of spending money on this artificial tool, one should spend the same on their food items which provide good proteins, and vitamins and help in keeping the body healthy and energetic.
Sometimes, when the appropriate one suitable for the skin is not used it may lead to healthy problems and instead of adding beauty to the face they spoil the beauty of the face which may again lead to medical expenses visiting the doctor.

I don't even own any make-up, and haven't for a long time. Even when I did, it was extremely rare that I wore it. I know some people like to wear it (for whatever reason) but no, it's not necessary and I agree that it's better to improve our look naturally (with improving health to keep skin clear, etc.) rather than wear lots of make-up. I quite like my face the way it is and, not having overdone it with the make-up, my skin is still OK. I've always had oily skin, though, so make-up didn't stay on for long anyway!

I've never heard of anyone having medical problems from using lipstick or other cosmetics. I've never really gotten into using lipstick or makeup, but my daughters do and I have no problem with that. Many use it to be more presentable to the public, not just to make themselves look more beautiful although it's common to think it helps with that too.
