I need to stop being so busy. I go back to work on the 31st August after seven weeks off, and I know that I'm going to regret all this busy-ness.
Yesterday was a beautiful day of sunshine and gate painting. And table painting. And more pond emptying. And kitchen drawer and cupboard clearing. And display cabinet clearing. I think that was it? Nope, we went to the supermarket too for our weekly shop.
My bits are tidy and my bins are full.
The neighbours amused me with their bickering whilst they tinkered with some sort of canopy/gazebo/awning type thing which they attached to the back of their house. They bicker a lot. Maybe bickering is the secret to a long and healthy marriage. Not that I know how long they've been married. Nor indeed, if they even are married.
My busy-ness today has consisted of clearing out, cleaning and tidying the cupboard under the sink. I've planted a plant. Done a little more pond emptying. Browsed Amazon Video for something new to watch with my lunch and done lots of Swagbuckling.
The rain [well, light drizzle] has hindered my plans. How am I supposed to get on with painting the gate? Will the pond just refill with water? I need to vacuum. Yes, I will vacuum. Then I will throw some clothes on and pop to the chemist for some medication. Then I shall partake of some more pond emptying. Maybe the sun will finally come out as I do this and then I can paint the gate. Because honestly, I can't be sitting here being all Lazy Lady of Leisure now, can I?
Can I?

@jaboUK I wish I could. My mind just doesn't stop thinking of things it could be doing.

Um, thank you for the offer. Could you send it in a couple of weeks when I'm back at work? Oh, and maybe come and take this rain off our hands too?! :)

I can't concentrate on reading unless I'm in the bath or on the bus, or generally somewhere where there are no other distractions. I can read in the garden but, you know, there's rain. :)

@Poppylicious I like to stay under the porch to read a book when it rains, I like the smell and the sound of the rain.
