I admit it. I am a trivia lover. I can't seem to help myself from searching out these little bits of information that may be useless but are certainly interesting. It's funny, I don't play the game Trivia, you would think I would. I might be good at it with all the trivia I seem to gather. I used to gather lit bits of information so that when I found the students minds start to wander I would all of the sudden come out with a little interesting tidbit of information what would start them thinking. For instance, once when we were studying The Great Wall of China I stop in the middle of the lesson and said to them "What do you think happened to the slaves and others who died while building the wall?". They perked up, they already had been told how hard it was on the people building it and that many died in the process. They came up with all kinds of answers. They could not believe it when I informed them that the people kept on building the wall and would build right around the body. Yes, the dead bodies were encases in the wall. Do you like trivia or do you think it's just useless information.

It's not any more "useless" than playing games. It's sort of a game and gives us a kind of knowledge. It can also be use in writing. I use to make posts using it. Not on here but may start. I belong to quizclub and a couple of others.

@crazyhorseladycx I went out and looked for the trivia. It became a good instrument in getting the students to sit up and listen.

I like trivia - I may not know as much as you or other trivia lovers, but I don't remember ever considering any of them as useless...
