I don't like lies or liars. I have written about this before. Yes, even white lies.
Am watching old episodes of The Big Bang Theory and tonight it is "The Loobenfeld Decay". Leonard lies to Penny to avoid hearing her sing a secon time, but Sheldon extends the life, which make things worse. This includes Sheldon producing a nonexistent cousin with a huffing addiction.
On the confusion and the chaos that ensues.
This just goes to show that lies don't do anyone any good. Lies have to do with fear. Fear of the outcome after the truth is said. But, it is never quite as bad as we think it will be.
I was reading the other day and found a few great sayings:
A half truth is a whole lie.
Every lie is two lies — the lie we tell others and the lie we tell ourselves to justify it. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com
Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom. ~Thomas Jefferson
When you tell a lie, you steal someone’s right to the truth. ~Khaled Hosseini, The Kite Runner, 2003
Lying to a good person is like throwing away a diamond and picking up a rock.
The worst feeling is knowing that someone thought so little of you that they would lie to you.

In reality telling the truth is far less complicated in the long run.
