Well I just had to reciprocate to @MALUSE post on the Puerile Poetry because that lovely youthful school photo needed a friend.
I give to you my Callow Hallow:
It was a horrid night
when came in sight
a lovely lady
so light and bright
for this I write
for fear of fright!

Wow! Another photo of a remarkably confident-looking and personable young lady! I would say that she looks rather the opposite of callow and, judging by the comprehensive library behind her (I wish I could read the authors and titles of some of those books!), her education was far from fallow!
I never thought that striped blazers and ties suited girls, really. Somehow, they are OK for boys but not for girls. What were the colours?

@Inlemay Quite tasteful. In my mind, I had the light-coloured (narrow) stripe as gold and the darker coloured (wider) one as red or green. Just shows how much is left to the imagination with black-and-white photographs!
It reminds me of a story I heard once about a lady who took a (sepia) photo of her soldier son in to be coloured (as was often done in those days). The photographer asked what colour the boy's hair was and received the reply: "Just take his cap off and you'll see!".
