Blood tests showed that I have anemia and a borderline cholesterol and here I am, walking in the park first thing in the morning, I wish I could just continue to do it on a regular basis without any gaps, but knees are starting to hurt, I walk around 30 minutes only, but want to stay fit now that I am nearing my 40s, any tips on how to walk and how many minutes to walk and some good food habits...thanks

I am also anemic. I try to walk every day, 30 minutes is good, but if your knees hurt walk a little less, the important is to make this a habit. The best food to fight anemia are eggs, cheese and milk, beef, lamb, pork, fish and breakfast cereals.

@sharay Unfortunately veggies are not the best food for those who are anemic.

I try to walk as much as I can. But there are days that I just can't. Every one has to listen to her own body. I am anemic also.

Since I have started just 4 days back, I did not want to stop...today was my 4th day, knee started to pain at the start itself, but I managed to walk for 30 minutes
