Do you have favorite theme songs from TV shows?
One of mine was the Sopranos, "Got Yourself a Gun" I think it was called. Just because it went so well with the opening sequence. And after all, everyone in it had pretty much got himself a gun.
Another favorite one for me was "A Place and Time" which was the theme song for The 4400. I thought it was a great atmospheric piece that went well with the topic of the show.

Have you noticed how brief TV themes have become? Rules of Engagement had just a few lines of song while 2 Broke Girls just has the briefest instrumental. Over the years I have liked the theme tunes or songs from Rich Man, Poor Man, Cheers, The Golden Girls (by the late, great Andrew Gold) and The West Wing.

I really love the theme song to the TV show "Justified." It is "Long Hard Times to Come," by Gangstagrass & T.O.N.E.Z. An odd mixture of Rap and Bluegrass. I'm not generally a fan of Rap, but I was a fan of the TV show, and I got to love the theme song.

@CinnamonGrl I'm glad you agree. I really miss the show, although I was disappointed with the final season, and the way they ended things.

@simone10 They are eligible for Emmy awards, so I think it must be common really. I don't think they put them in another separate category. I'll have to look it up to remind myself

Favorite television theme song include "Combat!", "S W A T", "Sanford and Son". Cartoon theme songs include "Wordgirl", "Super Friends" and "New Adventures of Superman."

@CinnamonGrl This is the end theme, the opening is a bit long.
This is the ending and indeed, main theme for Red Dwarf ever since the show began. Too many videos on here have some sound overlay like a ending laughter, or...

I always love 'Thank you for being a Friend' which is the theme tune to Golden Girls. I still watch Golden Girls regularly even now, sadly only one of the the Golden Girls is alive. Wonderful show and it would always cheer me up and no matter how many times I'd watch it I still found it just as funny. The theme tune to Prisoner Cell Block H is quite catchy too 'He used to give me Roses' Some TV themes they have revamped and have actually hit the charts in some countries, like Mission Impossible and Miami Vice.

My mom and I still watch the Golden Girls sometimes. So funny. And I like the theme song too. There are several tunes being mentioned that I haven't heard. So one of these days I'm gonna go find them all and listen. I haven't heard He Used to Give Me Roses, but the song has been mentioned to me before. I do recall several TV themes being played on the radio. I know the Hawaii Five-O one was.

I like Theme Songs from TV shows of long ago. I like the "Gilligan's Island" Theme song and I like the original "Star Trek" Theme song.
