I texted my granddaughters mother today and asked her for my granddaughters social security number so I could open a savings account. The next thing I know my son is calling me and told me that she won't give that info out to anyone. she
I am trying to stay calm about this but she is not thinking about her daughters future. My son did make a comment that he wondered if Madison had his last name. So I made a call and was able to get a copy of the birth certificate. She does have his last name. I also found out how he can get her social security number.
What do you think of women that plays these games?

i dunno why some folks (aint jest women) do that sorta thingy. i asked my daughter-in-law fer my latest grandsons ss# so's i could get him started off with savin's bonds (he's got 2 sets 'f grandparents, 3 sets 'f livin' great grands 'n a host 'f other family who buy him gifts...) 'n she declined. so, i jest write her a check fer each holiday 'n hope that she gets him bonds 'r 't the very least puts the funds'n a savin's account.
if'n he's payin' child support 'n can legally claim her'n his taxes (e'en if'n 'tis jest e'ery other year) he ought to've her ss#?? i know....none 'f my business...

I dont know why she plays games but we are all told to not give out our social security
numbers. maybe you could ask your son to put te money into an account for your
granddaughter.I will not give that info of my social security to anyone but certain privileged peo ple.

Then maybe your son can just open an account for his daughters so you can deposit money on them . However , it should be an account wherein the signatories are you and your son so he cannot withdraw it without your permission or his daughter's permission .

i don't know why some mothers can be very possessive of their children..i mean, some just don't share the responsibility because they are selfish enough.. it's for her child not for her so why would she do that? ..
