A week late but still, update on my first day of my nail course.

I was meant to do this last Friday. Better late than never! So last Friday was my first day starting my Cert II in Nail Technology. Turns out the way to get there was easier than I thought. One bus and two trains. Real easy so I am not stressed about that anymore. The teacher seems really nice and she was funny too. I haven't actually spoken to anyone else in the class yet. I smiled and said hello to a few people but like usual, too shy to escalate the conversation. I sat by myself in class too. So far there are 9 other people. We were meant to practice doing some things on other students but since there is an odd number, and I was sitting by myself, I had to practice on myself. Which actually kinda sucked. I wanted a reason to interact with another person. It's not easy for me to just go and talk sometimes. Maybe today I can talk to someone. Stupid shyness! The day went pretty fast that day. Got some really cool things so I can practice and an awesome book I can look through to study. Not much else to say really. Going again today. On my way now.

Sounds like you have a fair way to travel. Public transport in Perth isn't always easy to negotiate.

@VivaLaDani13 They want to get the cars off the roads but until something is done about improving public transport it will never happen.

@JudyEv Yeah it does take a bit of time but I'm not at all bothered. I enjoy it actually. Plus only once a week which is good. And yeah tell me about it! Sometimes transport is just so messed up! Especially on Sundays!

Have fun at your class. If it's an odd number, can the teacher help you so you don't have to practice on yourself?

@infatuatedbby Thank you! I haven't asked her but I just may have to. I should be asking as many questions as I can to make sure I pass.

I can sympathize with your shyness. I was like that up until I hit 50 years old. I hope you are able to meet more people in your class and I hope you had a great second day.

@VivaLaDani13 Yes, as I got older it became easier. Once when I was working, we had a new computer system. I had to get up in front of different classes and show screen shots and how to use the new system. We had about 1000 employees who came at different times. It was so hard for me but I faced my fear and did it. I was nervous and it showed in my voice but when it was over, I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

@simone10 Did you ever get a bit better with being a little more out going growing up? Thank you very much! :)

I take it you're not the type to jump up on a desk and start dancing (striping or otherwise). There are times you need to break out of your comfort zone and interact with others. If you don't do that in class you will probably be thought of as being stuck-up or someone who thinks they are better than everyone else–and I'm sure you don't want that. Pick out someone you think you can get along with and introduce yourself. It could go a long way.

@RichardMeister haha No I am definitely not like that at all. And no, I don't want to be thought of like that. In fact I didn't even think about that. I really hope they don't think that of me. That would really suck! Thanks for the tip! I will try next lesson! :)

@Daljinder She seemed busy actually so I didn't say anything. I just sat and worked on myself and thank you for the luck! :) And thank you VERY much again! That makes me feel extra good! I also have something else to let you know! I have yet to do a discussion about it so hopefully I will do that soon. I think you will be pleased! Well I hope so anyway!

glad you figured out how to get there. 1 bus and 2 trains equals how many minutes total travel time? how many weeks is this class? i hope the teacher finds a way to help you so you get the most out of this class.

@hereandthere I haven't taken note really but I will say an hour maybe. It didn't seem like a long time at all but maybe cause my mind was extremely occupied. 14 weeks in total but now 12 more to go.

@AutumnSnow Being shy definitely has some disadvantages. Thank you so much for your kind words!
