When Opportunity Knocks

At the meeting yesterday we were fed lunch which I felt was like a last supper before the proverbial drop of the hammer. I couldn't have been more wrong. The manager told us the plans for my part of the hotel. On October 16th all the doors will be closed and all business will end. The next day we start taking everything out. Some things will be going to the hotel next door, some to other hotels, charity and some we will be allow to take. When he mentioned us each being able to take a hammer to a wall I asked about drawing on the walls. He said we would and he was bringing spray paint. Best of all was he asked if anyone was willing to do Kickback in the evenings. Kickback as in "kickback and relax" which is really just a dinner for the guests. I seized the opportunity and said "I'll do it!" That's guaranteed hours no matter how slow we are.

And the Kickback is pretty easy. Just a matter of heating up food for the guests.

Glad it wasn't a last supper. Sounds pretty positive.
