I want to try out Jillian Michaels 30 day shred to lose weight. Has anyone here tried it before? I googled the results and it seems promising. I hope I could see results as well after 30 days. What are your suggestions to lose weight? I have tried dieting but man it is so hard to keep up the dieting. They say a lifestyle change is necessary to maintain weight loss. I would be glad to hear your thoughts about this topic fellow mylotters.

The workouts they have there looks nothing like the ones she does to her Biggest loser trainees. her workout video is more for a slow and steady weight loss. P90x works faster but it is overwhelmingly tiring. This workout program of Jillian is more light weight and mat based, Yup you need a Yoga mat because you will do a lot of floor workouts.

In my opinion, eating vegetables and fruits rich in fiber more and lessen consumption of rice, meat and sweets plus not eating after six in the evening holds the key to loosing weight. Not to mention, drinking lots and lots of water, like 8 glasses a day. Lifestyle change is necessary if you really want to loose weight. I had to experience uric acid just to force myself into eating more veggies and fruits. it's too bad I should have done this long time ago, now I struggle for weight loos. But it's never too late, trial and errors I hope you get the right kind of diet you need.

@lealuvy2j you should try slow and don't start with hard work out. it's hard to balance between diet and exercise. eating a lot lesser won't help either because you tend to bounce back if you skip a diet or an exercise. you have to start researching foods veggies and fruits high in fiber content. oh, yeah when I lost 13 pounds, that took like five months but it wasn't much of ahard work out.

I'm not recommending this way of losing weight. Sure it can be done; however, will a person really keep the weight off now. If you don't make other changes, then unlikely to keep the results. One of the posters mentioned water and its important to drink lots of water. Many people suggest 8 glasses of water and eating healthy foods. Be sure to get enough sleep and try to keep the stress down. Stress is really my hardest challenge in my fitness goals.

I wrote this discussion pre-inury but now that I am injured (left foot fractured and right ankle fractured), my fitness goals took a back seat to recovering. My goal is to recover first

The DVD is good but find it hard to find an empty house to do it in....there's always a family member about lol. Have heard lots of good things about Insanity too. A friend of mine lost loads of weight completing that and he enjoyed it so much he did it twice.

I think weight needs to be lost on slow basis. And that way it doesn't gain quickly back.
