1. If you ever watch the Big Bang Theory TV series you know that the science nerds are always eating Thai food and they are always eating it with chopsticks. According to Thai customs this is blatantly incorrect. The people of Thailand don't use chopsticks! They use forks and spoons.
2. In Thailand people never use forks to put food in their mouths. Forks are only used to push food onto a spoon. Food is only put in one's mouth with a spoon.
3. Kentucky Fried Chicken never uses its corporate catch phrase, "Finger-Lickin' Good' in its restaurants in Thailand. Why? Because in Thailand licking one's fingers is considered rude and uncivilized.
4, In Thailand it is considered a horrific social faux pas to blow one's nose at the dinner table. One must always leave the table to do that.
5. In Thailand it is customary to always leave a bite or two of uneaten food on your plate when you are done eating. This is considered a sign of gratitude to the chef for the abundance. Eating your plate clean is considered a sign of gluttony.
Keep these things in mind the next time you go out to eat in Thailand.

Yes, I also have been conditioned not to waste food. (I can also be a bit of a glutton on occasion.)

The things you mentioned are about the same in most customs but in other countries other than america people are a bit more conservative I guess is a way to say it they are about looks and correctness more so than we are. We leave nothing behind why waste food unnecessarily. When I go places I will bring back a doggie bag especially when its asian inspired foods. We are known for the excess in lifestyles.

Yes, I do enjoy Thai food but truthfully I don't eat it all that often. Sadly there is no Thai restaurant in my town and I'm not very experienced with Thai cooking. I love trying new things in the kitchen, though, so perhaps I will learn more.

Oh, I don't know it. I have been to Thailand before but I thought I made many mistakes when I had a meal there
I don't like wasting the food. So I thought I should finish the dishes when I traveled in Thailand. Oh, I don't know that Thai chefs didn't appreciate to it
