1954-1956 Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Laguna Beach, California, Korea and Japan I lost 50 pounds to be eligible to enlist--so where in their infinite wisdom do they assign me? Right--kitchen duty! (At least I learned how to cook.) After I got out the weight started to go up again.)

I don't know if it was 'bravery' or just a teenage decision done without thinking!
