Gene Wilder: Dead at 83

I am sure everyone has heard, or is starting to hear (like me)...that Gene Wilder died yesterday. Most remember him as "Willie Wonka": of "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"... For some reason, I personally never got into that character...ever. I have never watched the movie, in it's entirety. I started to a few times, but then got bored with it, and turned it off. Not sure why... I just didn't like the movie. I liked him more as Richard Prior's sidekick in movies like: "The Silver Streak"... To me...they were hilarious in that film. When asked in a 2013 "Time Out" New York magazine interview; whether he would act again, if a suitable film project came his way, Wilder responded: "I’m tired of watching the bombing, shooting, killing, swearing, and 3-D. I get 52 movies a year sent to me, and maybe there are three good ones. That’s why I went into writing. It’s not that I wouldn’t act again. I’d say: 'Give me the script. If it’s something wonderful, I’ll do it. But I don’t get anything like that." It was great that he lived a good long life of 83. However, his death, as well as others...just gives us a reminder of how fragile life is... Were there any favorite movies/films that you liked him in???

There seems to be a tone of posts about Gene Wilder. And for good reason. He was a very funny actor and made some awesome movies. Times sure do change. That kind of humor does not seem to be around anymore.

No...that humor doesn't seem to exist like that anymore... Maybe this was not a good post to make. But I did it more to honor him for his work, then to get a lot of responses.

Hmm, now I want to know what he wrote. I loved him in Willy Wonka and Young Franenstein

I was really surprised to hear of his passing. He just seemed like one of those people who would live forever.

I did not see any post of the sorts, on Facebook. And this is not the same post. Maybe the same picture. But not the same post, because I just wrote it, because I only found out about it a few minutes ago.

83 years old is not too bad. Some live longer, but many do not.
