His "Wife" Was "Jailed"

I presumed it is mating season of the beautiful yellow birds we call "kiyawan" or oriole because they kept on chirping and chasing each other above the mahogany trees this morning. One of them flew and perched atop a dried tree, where our neighbor kept an oriole so long ago; I think it is a female. Then the oriole perched on top of the dried tree whistled so long, which the one kept on cage (jailed) answered a loud shrill. I pity the one that was caged. I hope the owner of that bird release it because that bird species seemed endangered. Very few of it can be seen. I told my husband I want to buy that caged oriole if the owner sells it, then I will release it when its partner hovers here near our place. Some people need to know the importance of letting wild birds go free so it won't get extinct. What do you think?

@acelawrites Once birds are caged in from the day they're born, they won't survive in the wild if you set them free.....

@epiffanie I think so too, because their system was affected; also they might not know how to fly well.

Yes, and I pity them; both the one in cage and the partner who was always on top of the tree where the cage was (below).

@Hatley yes, it is illegal, and I presume they did not know it, or if they know, they ignore it.

I really would like to tell them about it, but you know, I don't want to antagonize my neighbor; but maybe sometime when I have the chance, I will tell it in a nice way that they won't be offended.

I agree with you. I don't believe any kind of wild animal should be caged.

@acelawrites Yes they should and it is selfish of humans to take them out of the wild for their own profit.

I agree completely but in Australia some of our birds and animals will only survive if they can be bred in captivity. Foxes and feral dogs and cats kill a lot of our small marsupials so it's important that are kept in captivity where they can breed in safety.

@acelawrites Yes, you would wonder why he wants to keep one caged.

It can be in some cases, to protect them and let them multiply, but they caged the bird alone, and I don't know their purpose.

Yes, people should free the birds from their cages. I have lots of birds in my garden and sometimes they come inside my house.

I love to watch them freely flying among the trees. Your garden would be more beautiful if there are lots of birds there.

@acelawrites we have lots of birds coming every morning in my garden. In fact, there were 12 birds this morning. I was not able to take photos though. They were faster than my camera.

I don't like to see any birds in a cage - it seems so unnatural. They should be flying free.

Offer the owner a price he/she can't resist. Poor bird.

If I have extra money, and another thing, I have to "balance" my approach because though we know them, we are not that close.

The reason birds have wings so they can fly, not caged.

It is true, and they should enjoy the trees, the wind, and reproduce.
