Practical Colors And Buying At Once

Here's our old and new multi-purpose lighters. There were 3 colors available, but I chose the green one so it can be seen easily. If there were only two choices, for example, black and blue, I'd buy the blue one for the same reason.
I remember a relative and my mother talking about her new black beaded wallet. They both said it's safer that way, so that it's not easily seen when you open your bag, since it will blend with the black lining.
I paid 71 pesos (US$ 1.52) for this multi-purpose lighter. It's probably cheaper elsewhere, but we needed it already and there wasn't enough time to check elsewhere.
I edited this picture using Pixlr Express this time.

@AkoPinay i would pair black slacks with brown or blue blouse, or vice versa. is that your avatar at bitlanders?

i actually disagreed with them because i think it would be frustrating if you're in a hurry or there are people in line behind you. my current wallet is blue, so i can see and fish it out immediately, but it's not a loud color, either.

@hereandthere I guess I was just thinking it might be easier to steal but if they have your handbag it wouldn't matter much what colour it was.

@JudyEv i guess they were thinking about pickpockets in crowded public transportation here. where do you keep/carry your money when you're sightseeing in another country?

We use those lighters to Light our BBQ grill. Very handy lighters and do get what you are saying about the color. They are more or less outside lighters for us and that is where we keep them. Can blend in with many things.

i have a feeling they're also available and cheaper in the big wet market (palengke) but i know it would mean asking and roaming around. so while i was at the mall and saw the store called handyman, i remembered that we need a lighter. so when i saw in their shelves, i bought it immediately.
if it were more than 100 pesos, i'd probably have second thoughts.

yup, a little contrast helps, but i won't go the other extreme and buy a neon green wallet, either.

I like to take color into consideration when I buy stuff too! I did have a small black wallet, but the problem was I couldn't find it in my purse easily because it blend too well inside the bag (it was even safe from me
). So I ended up with a dark gray wallet - that made a big difference!

@hereandthere Yah - I already have enough stuff in my purse - finding a wallet that was lost in there was a pain to get to when I needed to pay for something. I love gray too!

I must admit I am not very practical and like bright colours. I would take red over green any day. Sometimes I go too far. I hope to buy pink kitchen gadgets soon as I saw them in a shop. A pink mocrowave and kettle and toaster for the kitchen!

i choose bright colors for things that everyone here uses so it's easy to spot if misplaced. my own stuff is a different story.
all those pink gadgets would be so cute! it reminds me of hello kitty.

Isn't it posporo a bit more natural? that is one expensive lighter, maybe it's better that way. I used to have that one before, the red one.

yes, we also used matchsticks for a long time, but this one helps a lot in lighting the oven, too. and now that i think about it, it would probably be easier to light candles during a brownout, too.

I once bought a few pieces of that for our kitchen and some I gave to my sisters. The problem with those lighters is the difficulty of refilling. It will eventually end up as a throw-away type.

@hereandthere Refilling needs a good timing and if you're not good at it, the refill will just be wasted.

i'm not fond of red, but i loved the red loafers my sister sent that she no longer wore.
because the lighter is something that everyone uses, so i chose which color on the shelf was brightest so we can find it easily in case someone misplaced it.

we all use the stove here so i thought it's better to choose a bright color in case someone misplaced it.

Also choose light colors for items like that, so it can easily be see. I think it is cheaper in other stores.
