my iPad is charging

I am not an Apple FanGirl, don't fret. Android all the way for me, baby!
No, my iPad is purely for work. I brought it home and discarded it in a drawer seven and a bit weeks ago. I admit that I forgot about it. Why wouldn't I ... it's work related and these past seven weeks have been my hollybobs.
Today though it must charge, for tomorrow brings forth a new academic year and to work I must toddle. I'm not looking forward to it; my belly is in knots. Sleep tonight will come, but it will be fitful and full of rude awakenings as my head tells me it must be time to arise. No, silly head! It's only three o'clock and still really dark. Stop being so annoying! I shall say.
Seven weeks speed by, and what do I have to show for it? Nothing. Yet I would gladly continue to achieve nothing than go back to work, to be conflicted by my love of the role and my fear of my new Line Manager, to be whipped into submission by people who know not of what they talk.
Oh, of course I have achieved things this summer. I watched the entire first season of Fear the Walking Dead and have nearly finished the first season of Lucifer. The pond is very nearly empty, the gate is painted, as is the little tiny garden table, an old wooden tray and the shed door {they're all very pretty; I've gone all shabby chic vintage style}. The loft insulation has been installed, the gardens are looking nearly amazing, every single cupboard and drawer in the house has been turned upside down and inside out. The skip came and I cleared the garage. I threw out, or donated to charity, so much clutter that even my soul felt uncluttered. I even managed two short weekends away, and I got to spend a few sporadic days entertaining Baby Toddler Niece.
Oh, and I said goodbye to my uncle at his funeral, and welcomed my half-brother's ready-made family at his wedding.
I wish these summer days could last for always and eternity.

@ModernDayWriter Ha ha! I do forget that some of my made-up words will not necessarily be obvious in their meaning to other folk!

I prefer autumn and spring. Thankfully our summers are never usually too hot so I can cope, although we have had a mini heatwave the last week or so. Still, it helped me get the pond nearly emptied!

I don't even think they look that good, or it could just be because my work one has a rather nifty and very dense cover on it to stop it breaking. :)

Yes! I would be far happier if the summer holidays were in spring or autumn, but it is the time off rather than the weather. Being able to sit in the garden is just a bonus. :)

Lolz. I don't mind those summer days becoming winter days ... just as long as they don't the involve nastiness that sometimes comes from being at work.
