It seems these companies would just like consumers to feel bad about their phones so that they will buy these new ones (yes, me, a consumer, guilty!).

@funkeyguhl This has to do with self-confidence or weakness. If you can stand up to peer pressure and if you define yourself through the objects you own.

@MALUSE yes you are right. Usually it is just but peer pressure though an upgrade would be nice if your phone has really gone bonkers.
Or find an alternative that will not burn a hole in your pocket.
