Two Month Old Beaten

I hate reading about crimes in the newspaper. I try to skip most of the bad things, because it upsets me and I can't do a thing about it. Today I read about a young man and woman who killed their two months old baby. They carried the baby to the hospital claiming it has stopped breathing. They didn't know why. When the doctor examined the baby he found it had broken bones all over it's little body. They are being tried for first degree murder. It's hard to imagine anyone beating a tiny baby. How could they do it? The little thing must have screamed and suffered terribly. It makes me wonder why someone didn't know what was going on and report it to the police. The family must have been completely isolated if there was no one to hear. It just blows my mind.

I read one the other day where this woman's boyfriend punched her two-year-old. After the first punch, he told the toddler to "put up your hands and fight". The second blow pretty much killed the boy. I don't cry easily but that one had me tearing up. It's times like this that I wish we had public hangings.

I don't believe any normal person can ever understand such evil people.

Unfortunately some people don't have respect or their emotions and actions run the better of them.

@Lovingmybabies It's beyond my comprehension. Possibly they were addicts, altho the paper didn't mention it.

I firmly believe parenting lessons should be on the school curriculum. Having run classes for parents in need of help you realise people think it us fine to do some awful things and with tragic consequences. So sad for this little one.

Parenting lessons are good but won't work for everyone.

We should have parenting lessons taught in high school. It could save children from abuse.

That is the problem with Facebook, these kinds of stories fill my newsfeed and not just my friends, but I do like a couple news stations for weather updates and events. I see all kinds, some I don't open, knowing I would get really upset, others I share hoping to make people aware of what is going on in this world. I believe I had seen the headlines for this one, but it looked like one that I would get really upset about, so I didn't read the article.

@RubyHawk I understand, but some headlines (or then picture) is enough for me to just share to make the injustice known, but I won't look into the details.

@Carmelanirel2 If I see something so disgusting and heartbreaking, I will usually read it, but I wont look for it.

@simone10 I can't think of anything worse than an innocent baby suffering from abuse.

I hate hearing things like this too. They deserve to rot in hell. But fortunately, they'll get what they deserve while still on this earth. Criminals and convicts in prison may be the scum of the earth, but even they have standards and morals. And one of them is that you don't hurt kids, no matter what. When those two parents get convicted and sentenced to prison, the inmates are going to beat the living crap out of them for what they did to that toddler.

We all have different personalities where we react differently in different situations.

@RubyHawk It's amazing that even criminals have standards and a code of conduct. And messing with children is a big no-no.

I wouldn't be surprised, I've heard a lot about prisons. And child abuse is one thing they will get you for.

With a baby that young you should just put it in its crib and shut the door until you calm down. Why hit a tiny baby they do not deserve to be treated that way.

That is so, so sad. What a dreadful thing to happen. I try to stay away from such articles too. As you say, there is nothing you can do about these cases.

@JudyEv Absolutely nothing, other than it might make us more aware of what's going on around us. But I already know if I suspected such a thing, I would call 911 as quickly as possible.
