Well, as everyone in the US knows we're heading for all kinds of expensive holidays.
There's all that meat many families will be buying for the big cookout to celebrate Labor Day this coming weekend. Of course many will be taking a three day excursion which won't be cheap, are you going anywhere?
My favorite holiday which is not really celebrated by all is Halloween and you can bet all those candy and costume companies are praying you'll want to give the tiny tots a new costume then buy all that candy to simply give away. So, what will your costume be?
I've beaten those costume companies, I simply put on makeup for the night and let it go at that.
YIKES, I haven't got anymore makeup, I threw it out in February .... did I mention that makeup companies will be making a killing on all that monster makeup??
Ahhh the turkey and fixins for Thanksgiving and by now the wallet is already being stretched just a little farther than it would like. Thankfully I don't worry about this particular day, I simply boil up some chicken for the furbabies n me and that's that whew. You know I've never checked the prices for turkeys, so how much do they generally cost?
December is the most grueling of all. Parents all over the world want to try to give the wee ones something nice for Christmas and for those with really large families it can get to be really spensive, why do we teach our kids that they should expect all kinds of toys for Christmas? I personally prefer to simply spend time with family and friends, that's the best kind of gift to me .... plus my wallet won't be too ticked off at me.

Just had to put a shot of Boobear with this discussion, she's showing a new side of herself now that our furmily has grown. I do believe she's a wee bit jealous.

I know a few people who have really huge families @BelleStarr 1 lady I worked with was the 10th born of 11 so when they have festivities they've learned to simply rent a center that can accommodate all the siblings, their kids and grandkids. I always wondered what it must be like to have such a huge family but I think I'm glad our family is small.

If they are old enough perhaps you could all agree to simply have a family gathering on Christmas ..... of course it's hard to do if they are small.

Thanks, I think so too.
I'm not worried about it, I'm going to buy a couple fryin hens and I'll make some soup to share with the furmily. I've found that the best treats to give any of them is home cooked chicken plus I'll boil up the bones for a nice hefty stock for some soup for me. Yikes, I forgot to order some egg noodles .... boy how I wish ma had been Italian, maybe then I'd have learned to make old fashioned pasta
