I was under the impression that the alkaline diet wasn't a good one. I started watching a show on cable that was about 'super nutrients' to combat different physical maladies. The show is long gone but the site still flourishes. ( That is the site that the program I watched referred to. Lots of sales and great 'super nutrients' available.
Things such as flax seed, Acai berry(ah-si-ee) anti-oxidant higher than others and is a tasty berry.
Grape seed extract(also called Resveratrol)
Curcumin
Noni
Vitamin E=antioxidant to fight cell damage.
It's funny how authorities think things are not healthful and then all of a sudden it comes out that they were and are. Case in point-- My mother used to sell a multiple vitamin food called Nutrilite. (It is still sold) The original producers of this supplement(it has since been sold) were under the correct impression that a alkaline diet could be of help to people with cancer. It has now been proven to be true.
Alkaline diet is a good choice because cancer cells cannot live in an alkaline environment. Lots of fruit and vegetables and water.
Here is a link to a food chart that is helpful:

some things turn out to be good, but I think part of the problem is that not everything works for everyone, or affects people the same way, still eating more natural is better for most people for sure
