September's Here

Yea! That means two things. One is very significant, and the other no longer affects me. First, Fall is right around the corner - cooler weather, nice temps, fall colors - winter coming soon. Second, today is the first day of school for all the kids here. As I went to my early morning appointment all the schools parking lots were full of cars. My appointment was late enough that I didn't see many kids, but early enough that the cross walker guards were still on duty to take those late comers across the street to get to school on time. As I walked out the door I could feel the immediate difference in the air. Nice and cool, and in my apartment too as I just put on a sweatshirt. No use being cold if I don't need to be. I'm also having fun today on my first day of being fully moved into my apartment. I'm having fun because I need to locate various important boxes. I found it on the second box I unpacked. What was it - Bathroom supplies of course. It's a must have. So those are now fully unpacked and my bathroom is looking good. I just need to find the box with the right shower curtain in it. The one I have is okay, flowers all over it, but the one I love is my his and hers outdoor toilets. Unfortunately I had to throw the rug away, it was past its usefulness. So for now the flowers will stay up until I unpack that box. I've also had some fun today with my TV. Last night I couldn't get it to turn on at all. My son came in this morning when I told him and he said it was working just fine, I just had it on the wrong channel. I went back in the apartment after taking him home to try to turn on the TV and nothing. Not even a light to indicate it was still working so I figured I needed to go out and buy a new TV. This one is on it's last legs, but still has life in it. Then I got a call from my friend who helped me move. She asked me about that one switch near the door that I didn't know the purpose for. Guess what. I don't need to buy a new TV just yet. Though I do still need to figure out why the Blu Ray player doesn't work. So we've entered the Ber months, though maybe that should be Brrr months as the cooler temps are here and hopefully will stay in the comfortable level for the rest of the Ber months. I'm looking forward to a white Christmas. And now that school has started, I should also start seeing all the holiday displays for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas on display soon. I heard a radio announcer say it's only 114 days to Christmas. So get those sleds and skis waxed and ready for the slopes. It's going to change from raindrops to snowflakes any day now. Yes, I did use that S word. So how is your day going? If you don't see me, it's because I'm unpacking. Though I am trying to get my notifications also caught up and catch up with all I've been missing this week. Thanks for reading.

I'm about half finished with it. A friend just came and got all the boxes I had unpacked already for another person who is moving.

Sounds like you're enjoying getting your home set up. We wont have cool days for awhile, but it wont be as long as it has been.

@RubyHawk I rarely run the A/C. Even though it's been hot outside, it's been acceptable inside. Might have something to do with being on the ground floor.

Most likely. Now that I know what that switch is for, I leave it be.

Day is going good. have had a good streak on surveys which is why I haven't been here. Plan to be on a lot this weekend as holiday weekends will mean slow surveys. School has been in session here for about three weeks as they try to start early enough to get the whole first semester in before Christmas break (Disney doesn't like it and for a time schools couldn't start til a week before Labor Day after Disney protested, but the law was changed back to allow schools start more when they want) The hurricane is going into the state east of here and so glad all we are getting here is rough surf and breezesPraying that @Lovingnybabies don't get hit too hard in Jacksonville. Cooler weather don't really hit here til late October as during the fair we get our frist ral cool snap.

Why would Disney protest about when school starts? I'm glad you're safe from the hurricane. I hope the rest of the myLotters affected by the hurricane are safe.

I think the kids here would protest big time if they started in the middle of August. Schools used to start after Labor Day when I was a kid, but then when my kids were in school they were the last week of August and it's been that way since wherever I've lived. My kids went to school in Illinois.

Me too, though I am looking for a new one. I did need to buy a new Blu Ray player though. It had bit the dust. So I have the new one and will get it in place as soon as I have the living room cleared out of boxes.

I've noticed the slightly cooler evenings for a few days now. Fall colors? What's that? (I'm in California.)

Ugh. I hope we don't get any snow. I hate it. Luckily I live close to the ocean which keeps us too warm for snow usually.
