I just watched the Saddest Sherlock Holmes ever.

I just watched the Saddest Sherlock Holmes ever, Homes with Ian McKellen. It was very good, and very not what I expected. Fair warning it has a very slow start, and seems to pick up from the point where he goes to Japan briefly. He is old, and is losing his memory and knows the story that Watson wrote about his last case....isn't right somehow. It made him flee into forced retirement. Why? Who was the sad woman. What did he do that causes him so much grief now even without knowing why. It had a good ending, too, just enough that you don't walk away all depressed. I don't need more of that this weekend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Holmes

The only Sherlock I have seen is the Benedict Cumberbatch version but I am absolutely fed up of waiting for them to get round to making the next series of that.

@Jessicalynnt I have to say that what I liked about Sherlock Holmes were the original stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I have not interest in all those invented histories around the imaginary person of Sherlock Holmes.

I want to see Holmes eventually. Interesting to see McKellan's take on the character.
