. I'm sitting here thinking of best way to lose ten kilos and how long should I give myself to lose these extra kilos?..I'm thinking that it might take me ten years.. By then, I would have gained ten more kilos, so I will have to lose extra 20 that might take me 20 years to lose.. I'll be ninety years old by then..So it'll be easier to lose weight as I have no more teeth to chew my food with. ..But then again, I might not be around anymore ..My weight problem would be over then.. I can't imagine being around that long to reach the age of 90.. Can you imagine yourself at 90? Bess (photo of my comfort food )

If by God's grace I am still alive by that time, I wish I still have this 28 inch waist or even smaller.

@epiffanie I have 22 to 23 waistline when I was single but as I aged I gained more inches. I hope I keep it 28 or even if another 1 inch is added it is ok with me for as long as it will not be 30 up, it but I must continue regular exercise and proper diet.

I can't imagine being around at 90 although my mother lived till 104 and everyone says I'll do the same. I don't even want to live that long. :)

Oh wow!! 104 is just a bit too long for me .. I don't know why I feel that way.. I will be just happy to reach 80 .. Anyway, was your mother able to take care of herself or she was bed bound?

@epiffanie The last 18 months weren't too much fun but she was pretty good before that. She had a hip replacement just before she turned 100.

Right now I am too young to think of my nineties. But you should take care to stay fit and to live a beautiful life.

Not to mention metabolism slows even more as you age. When arthritis and osteoporosis sets in, mobility even becomes harder. Yes you may have lost some teeth, but doesn't mean you lose the extra pounds easy. Aw joys of old age. :D I would love to reach 90. My bf's grandma is 90 and while she is slightly overweight, she is still pretty up and about. Still cleans, cooks, gardens, and plays Pokies/ Slot Machines. Still attends senior get togethers and stuff. More than reaching old age, I'd also love to reach old age HEALTHY and still strong. If I become too much of a burden to my future children, I'm pretty open minded about getting into a facility.

@epiffanie Truly fascinating that she has more routine than I have. I guess growing up as the eldest daughter, got married and was blessed with 6 children, trying to make ends meet (they came from a very poor region in China) , all that daily strife and busy-ness has just become her second nature. She gets restless doing nothing. I didn't say I lived a rich comfortable life, but I didn't struggle as much as she had so I am more laid back, happy-go-lucky and I suck at gardening big-time.

Wow! that is so amazing to hear someone who is 90 and still can do all those things you mention especially attending senior get together.. I wish I can be like that .. I am working hard on my health issues now as my sons are picking on my unhealthy foods .. My father in-law is now in retirement home and he's 90 but still manages to take care of himself ..

TO be honest with you, I don't like reaching that age. I've always thought of dying while doing something right rather than to live longer and get aged and becomes slowly degrading in a physical level. teh food that you have, that's a lot of cream. maybe you need a doctor or dietician to help you out.

I can imagine myself at 90 and I hope I live that long. The bad thing is I probably won't be able to care for myself by then and will be in either a nursing home or living with my son.

I wish I can reach that age and still have a sharp mind/memory; never mind the weight; but I think it is easier to lose weight at that age because I would be very careful about my diet.

To be healthy at any age is a blessing and to be healthy beyond seventy years one has to be mightily blessed! I live in moderation especially in terms of food intake with the occasional indulgence. I rather would leave than just count my years but then it is not in my hands! siva
