I wasn't going to watch this because I can't stand either candidate, but the topic itself had me curious. It was regarding our military and the plans both candidates had on their agendas.
Clinton: would run it with temperament and judgement; the war in Iraq was a mistake; force should be the last resort; we should enforce the Iran Nuclear Agreement; VA hospitals should not be privatized; veterans should have immediate mental health care; we have to defeat ISIS; no ground troops in Iraq or Syria and take on ISIS in the US.
Trump: has good judgement; he was against the war in Iraq; we should have taken the oil in Iraq; he wants to be unpredictable; we have a dumb foreign policy; illegal aliens should be able to join the military; will negotiate with Putin; if a vet has to wait for medical care, he should go to any doctor or hospital and the government will pay for those services; no privatization of the VA; create a mental health plan for vets to stop suicides; come down hard on rapes in military and be very cautious about military decisions.

And totally different temperaments and experiences. Trump insulted the military as generals reduced to "rubble" and threatened to fire them. His "secret plan" to defeat ISIS, he says, may be better than the one he will give the military 30 days to come up with. He is such a blowhard.

And the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, when asked about Aleppo, said "What's Aleppo?" What a bozo.

@JamesHxstatic I was stunned by that one. Geez, if you and I know about that and we're not even running for office, what's his deal?

@nanette64 And Trump's admiration for Putin and the amount of "control" over his country that he has.

Uuhh … I guess I missed it. Was it on local TV or cable? We don't get cable. Anyway, there will likely be other debates. Maybe I'll see the next one.

@nanette64 - I'll try to keep that date in mind. Should be able to remember. It's my daughter's birthday. The day after that, 9/27, is the wedding anniversary for another one of my daughters.

Yeah, it was on channel 5 (NBC). The real first debate between these 2 will be on 9/26 with Lester Holt moderating. It will be on channel 5 also. I'm not sure whether it will start at 7 or later.

I've been trying to watch just about everything although I must admit it's taking its toll on my mental health! As of this point, I probably won't be voting, which would be a first for me.
