This Month's Colors are Shades or Rose and Bits of Gold

I've mentioned several times in my posts about a blog I follow called SoScrappy. Each month she chooses a color of the month. The challenge is to get into our scrap piles and make blocks with the color of the month. She also gives block tutorials throughout the month as well. I've been following her blog for at least 2 years. She used to just say green, or red, or blue, etc. Now, as you can see by my title, she has changed things up. She's chosen shades of rose and bits of gold. (Last month was to be lavender, but I did any purples) I spent last night and a lot of today going through my huge scrap bag and then other scraps and getting strips ready. I am doing string blocks with the color of the month now. It will be a few months before I start making the blocks into a quilt as I will wait until I get several colors done. In the past I have made hexagons, 4-patches, or yo-yo's with the color of the month. All projects that have been set aside and I should finish.

It helps to stay motivated to not let those scraps just keep piling up.

I was wondering what you would be doing with this month. Pretty fabrics. I should do some myself. I have strips ready. Just need to start cutting up backs.

I think I don't need to bring my machine. I'm sure I can just help you with a block on your machine. I don't know what I was thinking. Of course I will bring along some hand work just in case.

They are pretty, but do take away from the "rainbow" colors. Oh well, that probably doesn't matter too much in the whole scheme of things.

People clean out their sewing rooms and bring me bags and boxes......good thing I love to make scrappy quilts, but it's out of hand to the point that I just want to get them all out and cut them to usable pieces and then store them by color or shapes. That would take weeks to do though.
