What is your vision of a utopian world? What must it have?

Utopia

I would prefer a society supported by technology and democracy with people at helm thinking solely for the betterment of the society and not their personal gain. In the present broken world, corruption is a virus which slowly eats away at the system running the civilization of human beings. It would have been better if the system was formatted. Also, nurturing the environment, growing up with nature as a close relative is a must in my vision of utopian world. Population should be controlled, like two children per couple, and thus ensure that the resources match the number of people using it. Strictly to prevent overuse and pollution. Wish it was real.....though coming back to reality, it only seems like a good dream! Good night everyone! Going to dream about this place!

My perfect world seems kind of cheesy but I would love world peace. Where everyone got along with each other and there was no crime, racism, etc and everyone was treated the same.

Do not want to appear a defeatist but I am afraid that world peace will never come.

Liberty, Equality and Fraternity world peace would be a nice change. The constant war the world's been in since 9/11 is getting on all of our nerves.

@marlina That is hard to achieve. As long as people have their own agendas, there can never be world peace.

Have you heard about the Seasteading project? There this group of people wanted to create a new country by making a floating Island that will become a new country. The island will rely on kelp farming as their main industry and planting kelp in the ocean is actually good for the environment.

This is a real project? Wow, if they make it a reality, then I can't wait to see how it grows. Sounds wonderful, kelp is good for the environment as you say, and also edible.

@ria1606roy They will also be a 100 percent oil free country because they will get energy from the wind and the sunlight.

@CaptAlbertWhisker so, a renewable energy dependent country? That's so good to hear. It would be a real achievement if this came true

My Utopian world would see all people treated the same. No more poor or super rich, but very similar salaries, same car, same kind of house. Everything conceived to be non polluting and environment friendly. I agree about a control of the population. No more than two children per couple.

@ria1606roy The disparity from rich and poor is too big in our days. The middle class is disappearing and this will bring nothing good for the future.

@LadyDuck Totally true. We all have to contribute a little from each generation so that the future becomes the perfect society we envision. This disparity has to end, it's only creating more poverty, corruption, negligence in the world.

It's a great vision you have yes all the people should economically be of the same status and everyone should be educated in one way or the other for the overall benefit of the society. The condition gap between different people in today's world is very sad, when so many people are suffering and dying from lack of basic amenities of life.

@april_ang I saw it, looks like a very ambitious project and a controlled environment for experiment.....they should really do more of these. Thanks for making us aware of this!
