Asking 3 times: "Do you want any condiments to go with your sandwich?"

After running some errands, my boyfriend and I decided to go with Chick-Fil-A (chicken sandwiches) for dinner since we weren't very hungry today. We pulled up to the drive thru and ordered. We were asked if we wanted any condiments? We responded just ketchup.
As we pulled up to pay, the guy asked if we wanted any condiments? My boyfriend answered, ketchup. As he returned our change.. guess what he asked us?
The same thing: Do you want any condiments to go with your sandwich? My boyfriend was just a tad annoyed and shouted KETCHUP! 
It was the same guy too! I guess they are very busy and work in a fast pace environment. I've worked in 'food' and I wasn't a fan, it was a summer job for fun though.

Maybe they have gotten told that they needed to ask and so they are trying to remember and overdoing it a bit. Repetition is the name of the game in the drive thru it seems.

@infatuatedbby .....It is probably ingrained in them. He's probably wanting to be somewhere else so isn't keeping track of what he said.

I worked in fast food that is the way it is. When you are busy you are running back and forth and you ask the same questions so routinely that you forget you even ask and you ask again. The answer doesn't always register. I worked there for about 5 years. It could get to be very stressful so I get where the guy was coming from when he asked the same question 3 times. I have done that many times I am sure.

Yes totally. My sister worked in fast food back in high school and all the tossing/turning, she even fainted. I worked in the food industry as a summer job and didn't last very long also. It is definitely stressful, fast demand, and something I wouldn't be able to do. Props to everyone who can!

@infatuatedbby It is only a minimum wage job but they work hard a deserve to be paid more. It isn't a place that everybody could work because of the pace and the stress of it. I enjoyed it though.

He was probably just nervous, maybe he experience rude customers for him not giving condiments.

@infatuatedbby - What they don't understand is if they are making that much, they're going to get their hours slashed. And still mess up your order.
