Another Paraprosdokian - Remember Them?

Have you been practising saying 'paraprosdokian? I wrote about this figure of speech a few days ago. While at Gnomesville today, we saw another example in a sign attached to a group of gnomes. The sign read 'You came, you saw and you got completely lost'. I could have said that about me a time or two. Have you ever been pretty confident about something then become completely lost, either physically or otherwise?

Oh those Gnomes are sooooo cute - I have only but one in the garden - Donnybrook sure delivered some lovely sights.

@JudyEv that would be lovely to see - otherwise you will have to make a slide show

@Inlemay I have lots of photos of individual gnomes with clever puns but for people to get an idea of the scope of the place I put up ones with lots of gnomes.

It is hard to do the place justice with one photo. I thought I had a slideshow of them somewhere on YouTube. Must see if I can find it.

We got lost a few times in Europe, mostly in small villages where the streets got narrower and narrower.

@JudyEv I eventually find a bus route or something I passed previously - I always give mysef plenty of time to get myself back on course

Did that a few days ago. My son was confident he knew where the highway was. I was driving. We were lost, or as my father always said, taking the scenic route.

@JudyEv The good thing about the scenic route is you get to see things you didn't know were there before and you never know what you're going to find. This scenic route was actually very pretty and rural looking though it was just outside the city limits.

@just4him That's very true. It's just that it usually takes longer.

I never heard of that word before this. There are some good ones out there. And I have been frustratingly lost many times.

It is reassuring to know how many of us have lost our way occasionally.

I can relate to that. I am usually lost when I was looking something and suddenly I didn“t know anymore what I was looking for when I reached the room I intented to find something.

Mathematically I can become mired down and lost. Physically, I have a strong sense of direction.

I'm not bad out in the countryside but I tend to get turned around in the cities.

Yep. I've gotten lost more times than I like to admit. I have no sense of direction. I love the picture. The gnomes are adorable.

Mostly I have a good sense of direction particularly in country areas. I can get 'turned around' in towns though.

There are times when I get mentally lost. I open the refrigerator and stand wondering why I opened it. Or I will forget to keep back certain things in kitchen from the dinning table even though I would have crossed the same path five to ten times.
