I joined WW in March, 1967. By the time I reached my goal I started working for them as a lecturer--in 1968 I was one of the top drawing lecturers in NYC--I remember we worked for a base pay plus 25 cents per person as commission for any over 50 members--my classes averaged about 75-100 people--I was doing 5 regular classes a week plus subbing at 2-3--in 1969 I moved to Memphis to open WW of Western Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Chattanooga with the title of Director of Operations and, within a year, the salary and perks to go with the title.

Weight Watchers! It was all about motivation, not accepting excuses and having to answer to someone.

@GreatMartin ....Oh, I see. That sounds like a good way to do it. I saw that Oprah was into that and even had some stock in the company.

That is great you lost the weight. I have memories of my Mom when I was a small kid, going to Weight Watchers. She got real heavy after the birth of my sister and I have a memory of going with her to one of the meetings and her getting on the Scale to see how much she had lost.

This must have been very enjoyable. Can't imagine how many you have helped by doing those lectures.

It was a good way to be motivated to keep the weight off knowing people would be 'inspecting' me every week.

It is a weight loss program where people get together every week, weigh in and discuss any problems they may have had following the diet plan.
