Disturbances in the tropics...

Jacksonville, Florida
September 14, 2016 7:07pm CST
I am watching the Weather Channel right now; and there are actually 7 different disturbances going on in the tropics, right now. One of them is brewing in the gulf. I wonder which way it is going to head? This is crazy... I have never seen this many at once! There have been a few seasons, that were very active, and had many more than this...but they were more spaced apart. We have had nothing for over a decade, and now...it's like an explosion!!!

Stay safe. There's a typhoon in my county right now and I'm just glad it's not in the area where I'm at.

We had a weird weather this year, very unusual. Now it's raining with a strong thunderstorm and the temperature went from 85 to 55 in 10 minutes.

Jacksonville was my first duty station in the Navy. I got to town about 24 hours before Hurricane David in 1979. I hope you didn't have any problems with Julia.

No... We got heavy ran before Julia developed, and it did not do that until it got to the edge of Jacksonville. We are suppose to get more rain, but it is not raining now.

I thought of you when Tropical Storm Julia developed overnight right over Jacksonville! Can't believe something like that happened with no prior warning!

We actually only ended up with heavy rain. They did not even name the storm until it got to the edge of Jacksonville. We are suppose to get more rain all week, but right now it is dry as a bone.

We are still in the middle of hurricane season. So I doubt we will see a relief soon.

Yes, I did hear about one in the Atlantic that could cause a lot of rain in Florida and Southern Georgia.
