Movie marathon- Love stories

These days its just watching movies at home. With unlimited WiFi, who is to stop me. So yesterday's choice of movies were "Made of Honor", "You've got mail" and "Pretty Woman"...back to back. I swear, it got better as the night proceeded. 'Made of Honor' is funny and nice to watch with Patrick Dempsy trying to convince his long time best friend Mitchell Monaghan that he is the right guy for her, and not her fiance. Hilarious at times but sweet, all in all. I have always loved the pairing of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. With his deep voice and her cute style, they compliment each other perfectly (I really love her lips ). Even in "Sleepless in Seattle", they were just awesome. "You've Got Mail" may seem a little old because of the e-mails and chatrooms (after all we live in the world of Facebook and WhatsApp now) but it is still a lovely story of this love-hate relationship and discovering each other through the world of internet. A must watch, no matter which century you are in. "Pretty Woman" may seem a bit bold for its times, but is a perfect modern Cinderella story. And Julia Roberts is an epitome of beauty, no matter what kind of role she plays or what kind of clothes she wears. Her transition from the brash, unsophisticated call girl to this elegant, respectable woman with poise is remarkable yet smooth. And Richard Gere is simply perfect. The age makes him hotter. No one could have suited those roles better. Its a beautiful love story. I'm addicted to love stories. No matter how many you give me, I just cannot get enough of them. How many of you here are "romantically-challenged" or "love-struck"? Do tell, which movies you have watched recently and fallen in love with them?

I love watching love stories. It gives me a "feel-good" effect. Some love movies I absolutely adore are "50 First Dates","Dear john","Just Go With it" and many more. I'll add more when I remember them. I'll also like to hear your best movies other than the one you mentioned above.

Yup!! "50 First Dates" was on my day before yesterday's movie marathon . How could someone love a person soooo much. Absolutely one of the best. I also loved "A Walk To Remember", "P.S.: I Love You", "The Vow", "She's The Man", "27 Dresses", "13 going on 30", "The Ugly Truth"....and more such.

@sammyy Ah!! How did I forget "P.S.I Love You". That is one of the best movies I've watched. Another movie I love is "The Descendants". Though not exactly a love movie, I still loved it. George Clooney was absolutely amazing in that movie.

@GiridharanJ That one is a well recommended movie. Though I haven't got round to watching it. Now that you mention, will surely check it out next time. Yes, George Clooney is amazing.

I like love stories too - anything feel-good is okay with me. I haven't seen Made of Honor but I enjoyed the others. Tom Hanks is always good no matter who he is playing.

@sammyy It must be something to do with age - although I've never liked too much violence or fantasy even when I was younger.

I agree...Tom Hanks is definitely one of the finest actors. And I understand that feel-good aspect completely. My mom, especially, never likes to watch a movie which has no happy ending.
