Excuse YOU! Upsetting morning!

This morning, I went to a self service bakery to get some pastries & coffee. As you walk in, every customer grabs a tray + tongs then you browse the bakery and self serve yourself. There isn't a set line.
You will find people jumping all over the place, up your tush, hoover above your arm, whatever it may be. And, especially as it's a Friday people have places to be.
Well, I do have patience especially for older people but there is an extent. The couple ahead of me was just BLOCKING my way. I knew what I wanted which was two items but I couldn't even get to it. His wife was standing there, looking at each one thinking/picking while the man just stood there not letting anyone pass by. I said 'excuse me' and you know what he said? When I am done, you can pass. I went around him, got my items and went to go pay.
They were hogging an area where people can maneuver around you but I was being nice and said excuse ME. Luckily, I was ahead of them in line because while I was waiting for coffee, they were paying in all coins. Nothing wrong with coins, but if I had been behind them - it would be like they were intentionally blocking me on purpose or what.
Now it is more like excuse YOU then me.

Regardless of age there is no reason for people to be rude. I probably would have done that same that you did but it would have upset me. Sometimes it is better to just walk away and go about what you are doing then say something.

Yes, you are correct - regardless of age there isn't any reason for people to be rude especially since I know others will just forcefully walk in-between him/his wife without apologizing or excusing themselves. I just became the bigger person and went to myself you know what, I will just walk around.

I have respect for older people but when they act like that, they don't deserve to be respected.

Same here. That was just selfish. I was patient and polite.

@infatuatedbby there are just a lot of inconsiderate people in this world and they're everywhere.

@toniganzon Yes you got that right! At least if you're not familiar let the next person go. Nope, hog the area up so no one can get by unless you go around.

Some people think the world revolves around them and every one would be so accommodating, these types should put up their own shop lol
When I was younger I would probably say " you said something?" or "what did you say?" after I said "excuse me" good I'm learning to control myself more now.

Sounds like the scrum when our Marks and Spencers reduces food down near closing time. Fights over food have been known.

Absolutely hate people like that!!!! Those people who just stop and don't notice the lineup behind them. But I have never heard of a self serve bakery.

Oh it is common here. You pick all the pastries you want then go pay.

Some people have an entitlement attitude! That would be frustrating.
