how do you take jokes?

Some people are more serious than others and different people have different sense of humour as well as different levels of tolerance for jokes... to what extent can you take jokes? what if someone made a joke about you but you don't catch it? Or someone made a joke about you and you took it so seriously you feel angry/tears welling up in your eyes/ unjust/ etc... share with me your experiences on good and bad jokes or about your tolerance level on jokes

for me it depends on the person who gives the joke if a friend jokes on me then i can tolerate it maybe but i still have limits..same with my family as well

Same here. Tolerating depends on the person.

One person's joke is another person's jibe - humour is so subjective... I love the pic you have used in your post!
Ah well, it seems the joke is on me this evening, my 45th post on myLot fell foul of the last bullet-point in the Guidelines: ?Posting jokes, recipes, 'top...

@XinfulThotz The guidelines probably arose as events happened that needed admin interventions... It is not so bad here, common sense usually prevails.

is right! You are so wise @XinfulThotz serious mean that because at it turned out this is true. It is how it turned out. The passitby leaned over to the me lotter, looking at the empty stage platform and asked him, "so where is the nightly entertainment?"

exactly correct @XinfulThotz you are right! This is what happened. The me lotter answered pointing over with, "there". But wait there is a moral to this joke? Do you think a joke might have a moral? What is the moral I wonder.

@bluedoll all the three guys got the entertainment they wanted in their own way.. so the sign out front is right!!!

verbal jokes are alright but I hate practical jokes and hidden camera jokes such as they use on TV shows

I'm with you on the hidden camera jokes. Most I don't find funny in the least. I really don't like people being made fools of.

@XinfulThotz As an adolescent I used to be a stammerer. Some of my friends used to tease me then.It was so hurting that I can't describe. It took me years to get rid of my speech defect.

@else34 wah. that was bad and can be super hurting. glad you overcome it. they are pretty insensitive to do that. it's like it is not as though you like to stammer..

I guess it depends on the jokes. Some may be in poor taste and also depends on the mood I am in.

I laugh easily. I tend to laugh whether the joke is not right , bad or good. Just to make the people know that his/her jokes are funny and not to offend them.

It depends on the joke. There are jokes that are funny without bringing others down or making fun of others. I have no tolerance for jokes that involve rape or harassing other though.

with me it depends on how my rapport is with the person...like if my friends do it....they know me well enough....and somehow i don't feel bad if they make a joke on me...i might even laugh with them if i know they are right. But when strangers do it ...or someone who isn't on that casual terms with me...then it becomes ...irritating...i get more defensive...
