My grandson has a project for his Social Studies class about Bangladesh, so I thought I would find out if there is someone on myLot who lives in Bangladesh that can supply more information about their country. I did find a few things that I thought were very interesting, but it’s always best to learn from someone who actually lives there. We found one site that told us that the Royal Bengal Tiger is the national animal of Bangladesh. It’s my very favorite animal of all time. If you could see my bedroom, you would see pictures of the Bengal Tiger there. I know that it is also on the endangered species list. Another interesting thing we read is that Bangladesh has SIX seasons, not four like some other countries have. They were listed as “grismo” which is summer; “barsha” which is rainy: “sharat” which is autumn; ‘hermanto” which is cool; “sheet” which is winter; and “bashonto” which is spring. I’m not sure what season they are in right now, but it would be interesting to know more. I also read that the Bay of Bengal is the largest bay in the world. What are some other interesting facts? I will continue to look for more information, but if you live there, you many know many other things that would be interesting. Please share. We also found this photo of the Parliament building in Bangladesh

@IreneVincent wow that's great, the history of bangladesh is really significant as you know the international mother language day ( february 21) belongs to us because in 1952 there are many young of my country sacrifice their lives for establishing the mother language as our own language as the Pakistanis tried a lot to do injustice to us but we brave nation protest n get the justice finally

My grandson and I are always researching different countries so that we can learn more about them. Bangladesh has some fascinating history and my grandson takes a class in school that requires research. I like to contact persons on myLot who actually live in the country we are researching.

I know there are several here from Bangladesh. If you searched for 'Bangladesh' in tagged discussions, you might come up with some names.

I live in the north east corner of India next to Bangladesh. The six seasons are true for India too. We will be entering Sharat now , the skies get clear and there are starry staryy nights....

We are also entering autumn, so our seasons might be very similar year around. Maybe? You should tell us about where you live and what places would be nice to visit. India is such an interesting country. What is it like, every day? What kind of job do you have? Tell us about your family and friends and what you do for entertainment. It would be interesting to read.
