…go to another city or country. I have a cousin who just came back home from the USA. She didn’t attempt to visit my mother. I don’t mind if she will not going to see me. My concern is to give respect to my mother. The family wasn’t also thinking about the good things done to her. I consoled my mother not to think about it and explained that people change for a reason. It will come a time that this kind of people will realize how ungrateful they are.

That is what we do. Teach people to be rude and inconsiderate. lol. Not every one is like that here, but the country does seem to be getting worse. Hopes she remembers her roots and goes and visits her mother.

some people seem to want to forget or deny their roots, while others bash it from afar.

I have the idea that in your country, elders are treated with more respect than in other countries. Probably it is in part due to your cultures and beliefs. Maybe your cousin does not mean any wrong, but has forgotten the ways things are done there.

it's one thing to forget, it's another to impose and expect things done your way

@Shavkat They change a lot. Just imagine your own country. From what I have read, your faith comes from the time that the Spanish were there. And so are some words, names and even dishes. Yet most of you speak English now, besides your native tongue.
I guess your cousin has picked up the ways of the people in the US.

@marguicha It is, my dear friend. It has been a culture and practices in years. However, people change influenced by different cultures.

Sometimes, even you do not want to think of it, still it comes to your why they never give importance to the people who had helped them or even just to visit a relative. Just because they taught they were already an upgrade individual.

if she doesn't want to see the rest of the family, she can arrange to meet your mother one-on-one somewhere and at least treat her to a meal.
