I will be MIA Most of Tomorrow, (Monday) as Our Power Will Be Shut Off

Tomorrow will be a bit different for me and my family as our power company will be coming by at eight am to disconnect the power/electrical from our house. A company out of Clare, MI, which is about thirty minutes away will be taking down a hundred year old black walnut tree off the back of our property. We will be glad to have it down for whenever there's any major storm system going through our area it could take down limbs which pulls down the power lines to our home. That has happened at least two to three times in the sixteen years we've lived here.
We will not be staying at home because they will be using a large crane to carry the limbs and trunk-which will be kept as one long section- over our house to a truck waiting at the curb. They've done this many times for other customers, so there shouldn't be any problems, but it's a bit disconcerting just the same.
I'll have tomorrow morning off from cleaning windows, but won't be home to mylot with any of you unless I decide to go to the library for a while. I figure it will be a time I can go check a few things out elsewhere.
I need to purchase a new squeegee which I'll get at a Lowe's Home Improvement store, or a different location from my norm. I've also thought about seeing what the cost is for using exercise equipment where I had physical therapy in the past. Then, I'll either go back towards home to watch the process from afar, or head to the library to see if I can use a computer there.
We will be taking pictures of the beginning of the tree cutting, and possibly during the event, and maybe I can even make a short video for your viewing pleasure. So, if all goes well, I'll be back again after cashiering tomorrow evening and again later in the week.
The picture here is from pixabay and shows the leaf and nuts of a black walnut.

The tree came down fairly quick to my surprise. They ended up backing up the truck and trailer into our back yard for the three trunks divided up from one main one. Only the last one was raised slightly over our garage and none went over our house. The trunk itself was estimated to be about three ton, 7,000 ft once all the branches were cut off.
I took about fifteen small videos, which I hope to download/upload to youtube one of these days, and quite a few pictures too.

@MarshaMusselman I'm glad it didn't take a long time to take it down.

@MarshaMusselman I have watched tree removals before and it really is fascinating. I hope when you came back home, your electricity was back on.

My husband intended to stay in the house while it was being done, which I didn't like at all just in case a limb crashed the roof. But, he stayed outside watching and I did the same for the most part. While they were putting the higher limbs through the chopper I did go inside to do a bit of cleaning, but ended up going in and out to check their progress.
Our power company stopped back by to see if they could reconnect by one pm, but although our tree was down by then, they were using our yard to take down 1.5 of two types of trees out of our neighbors yard. There was no way for the crane to drive to the back of their yard, so they stayed in ours instead.
I left for work at 2pm, but I'm sure the electricity was on shortly thereafter.

I got out my earplugs which I use to sleep in the day when I work at night, but I didn't end up needing them. We sat near our neighbor's house where it wasn't so loud.

I'm sure it will go well too, I've just never watched this process before or I'd be less leery. They will be working on about five or six trees in the area in the next couple of days. After they get ours done or almost done, they'll do a pine tree on my neighbor's yard and then a few other trees for other neighbors.
That works well for me because we don't know the final cost yet. They may take a bit more off the price if they put ruts into our back yard. Rather than them bringing in dirt and seed we've requested that they give us a further discount instead. I'm borrowing the money for our half from my sister and can pay them the next day since they'll still be in the area.

We don't use the walnuts around here at all, just the squirrels and they make a mess of my deck railing with all their meals. There will still probably be messes in the future, but maybe not so many of them if they have to get their walnuts from other trees in the area. I'm sure they'll figure it out.
