Yes, my thighs are getting warmer. Why? It is because I am using the net book of my son which was repaired, and because I am also watching television since this morning. I did not go out the whole day today. It is raining and it is conducive to rest and sleep. I also checked on my emails and my FB account. Then I had a chat with my siblings. Lunch time, I prepared dog food and washed their dishes after. My son said I should put the net book on a chair, but my posture will be bad because I have to lean forward to read and type. So, I just put it on my lap, and now, my thighs are getting warmer. I guess I have to put down the net book and keep my thighs cool now.

Do not keep your laptop on your bedroom, use a cooling pad. This for two reasons, the heat can damage the laptop, the besheets can catch fire.

Yeah, a cooling pad is really necessary and we should never put the laptop on bed. I have heard incidents of bed sheets burning due to laptop's heat.

This is very true. It is not healthy for you or the lap top. I use a little lap desk.

Nooooo!!! Don't put it on your lap! Blame whoever called them laptops, they should not be placed on laps! Lol. If there is no table, and putting it on the chair will make you stoop, then put it on the chair then sit on the floor! Just don't put the hot thing on your lap.

@ridingbet Well, I looked and what I found was this... The first ever model that was called a 'laptop' is the Gavilan SC, which looks so very different from the laptops of today. From the picture, it looks more like an electronic typewriter to me. Anyway, there was no mention (or maybe I missed it?) of why they decided to call it laptop. But I suppose it was because of the portability. My first though was of people on airplanes placing the computers on their laps but then I thought they had those tables you can pull down on planes. I suppose people on trains and buses also liked to work while travelling, and they are less likely to have tables available...

Sounds like you had a busy morning! Aren't there foldable lap top/net book tables available in the market? Perhaps you can buy one of those.

There's no other way to use the net book so you don't need to have them on your legs?

I can't put my laptop directly on my lap because it gets too hot. I use a cooling pad. My laptop is on a wooden "bangko" right now. And yes, I have to lean forward if I need to type something. My back hurts...

putting a laptop on a wood i think is better than putting it on steel table. at least, air can flow in the wooden table.

@brokenbee there are bamboo slits anyway so air can circulate.

@ridingbet Yup, but I still use a cooling pad. And sometimes I put an eraser to elevate the front portion so that air will circulate. Hihi

Be careful because it might get too hot and you will burn yourself.
