Food Preferences : Burrito or Donut?

burrito or doughnut
Austin, Texas

Woke up earlier than usual this morning and my daughter was headed out to her seasonal job. There was no coffee or creamer in the apartment so I told her I would drop her to work. She works near the grocery store where I shop. Got to the store, picked up the items I came for and all of a sudden I realized I was hungry! They say you should never go to the grocery store when you're hungry because you'll make bad decisions and buy foods that you ordinarily would not buy. It's true! Found myself at a critical juncture. Had to make an executive decision. What's it gonna be? Burrito or doughnut?!! I broke down, lost all my self-control and went for the doughnut! Custard-filled with chocolate frosting. That doughnut was so tempting. I yielded to temptation. Forgive me! As a penance, to compensate for misbehaving, I live in Austin, Texas USA. If you are ever in this town and you're looking for a great place to eat a burrito, here is a list of the best places. I'm not sure if a burrito is actually any healthier than a doughnut. But it does have less sugar.
We did the research so that you don't have to. Chilantro BBQ and Freebirds World Burrito are on the list. See what other places made the cut.

@cmoneyspinner yes tacos and burritos are popular here in big cities only. But, most popular nationwide are American & Chinese Foods.

I will go for none, I think that those are acquired tastes.

The burrito is definitely an acquired taste as I grew up in South Florida and never ate a burrito until I moved to Texas!

@cmoneyspinner Doughnuts are not something that you found in Europe until a few years ago. Now you can find them in some supermarkets. I have tried them in the US, too but they are good, but a bit too greasy.

Why I need to choose? Why I cannot have both?

My big butt won't allow me to have both! Ah! The sacrifices we must make for beauty's sake.

I'd go for both lol. Hey, I should save this article for my son. He's an archaeologist and often goes to Texas. .don't know how close to Austin. But it seems to me like he's mentioned being in Austin. And he is a true burrito lover. Thanks for the heads up. Have you been all these places?

No. But know of some of them and that site Foursquare has pretty reliable recommendations. Usually I don't go out. My kids bring food home to me!

Yes, you are right, shopping for groceries when hungry makes you fall off the wagon.

I'd sooner go for a donut. Only had one, proper, burrito and that was too much to eat, for me
