On my own until Friday

Some of Anne's quilts
Eugene, Oregon
September 22, 2016 11:17am CST
Anne left yesterday afternoon for an hour's drive to Salem, Oregon where she will attend a regional art quilting conference. This time, she is more than attending; she is presenting a technique that quilters can use to "scrunch" fabric in order to add texture to their wall hanging quilts. Last night I had pizza and a large salad, with wine of course for dinner and watched a Netflix movie. Today, since I am not working, I will do some shopping for a few groceries we need, take a long walk, and do some myLotting too. But tonight, I will see the filmed version of a great musical called "Ms. Saigon." It is a filmed theatrical presentation that will be shown one time all over the country at various theaters. This year is the 25th anniversary of the first production of the musical. I saw a road production some years back and the music and drama is wonderful. Though I did not go to Vietnam, I nearly did and was a soldier of the era of that misbegotten war. It is always on my mind.

It sounds as if you will be keeping yourself occupied while Anne is away. Enjoy the film.

It was filmed from the production at London's West End and it was incredibly good.

I remember Ms. Saigon played in Denver for what seemed like forever. I saw a lot of the shows that came through, but never got to see it.

I've heard of "Ms Saigon" but never seen it. I'm sure you'll love it. I remember more than I would like about the Vietnam war. A terrible time in our history, the same as I feel about our latest wars.

You are right about all these erroneous wars we are involved in.

I went to see Miss Saigon on stage in London back in the early 90s. It was pretty spectacular, as I recall.

I never saw Ms. Saigon and would love to see this presentation sometime. Your wife sounds very creative. I've seen several quilers at myLot that could probably benefit from learning that technique from her.

I am not sure how many quilters make the wall hanging kind she does, though there is an international organization called SAQUA. (saqua.com I think)

Anne creates such beautiful pieced of artwork. I almost envy you James. I am figuring in my mind some days home alone. It's more than 30 years that this does not happen.
