Well, that was embarrassing!

My husband's niece arrived in Toronto yesterday. Last week she had posted on Facebook how would be the cheapest way to get from Toronto to Niagara Falls. I messaged her that her uncle would gladly drive her. So after a few hours sleep this morning he got up to go meet her at the airport and drive her to Niagara Falls (about a 2 hour drive). I had just gotten out of the shower when he left. My hair in a turban and a towel wrapped around me. My phone dinged a notification. That was really an indication to me that my husband may not have remembered to take his cell phone with him (he always forgets it) and he would need it to meet up with his niece. I ran down to the family room, saw his phone on the table and ran out to the van which he had just started up and was preparing to pull out. I knocked on the van window in my little towel at the very moment the mail man came across the driveway to deliver our mail. Laughing I apologized to him, handed the phone to my husband and bolted towards the house where he, the mail man, held the door open for me. He was smiling. I'm guessing he's come across worse situations in his job. Better than a barking dog I would say.

I am sure mail men see a lot more than they let on...

They probably didn't have to sign confidentiality agreements.

@patgalca Ah, but they've taken the Mailman's Oath... Bound to silence in return for the ability to fold items marked "Do not Bend" with impunity.

That reminds me of rushing to answer the front door just after I showered .. It was a delivery and I didn't want to collect the box at the post office .. I was very apologetic to the young man who saw me with my hair dripping wet but I managed to wear a pair of tract suit pants and my bath robe.. lol ..

@epiffanie I've gotten door knocks when I've just come out of the shower. I yell from upstairs asking who is it and ask them to hold on for a second. And then I get some clothes on.

Now that you say that, maybe the look on his face was not because he almost left without his phone but that I ran outside like that.

@patgalca O, if I were the mailman I would have suspected that another "Tiger Woods and his ex-wife thing" was happening! It's good you were not holding a baseball bat or golf iron . . . Just kidding!

At least your husband was able to get his phone before he left.

Except it wasn't well charged. He texted me about an hour ago to tell me it was very low on battery. It's always the way with him. Either he doesn't have it with him or it's not charged.
