Anyone here heard the story about 7-up

I will admit something you guys may found this appalling. When the Reality competition The Apprentice became a hit TV series, I was a fan of Donald Trump and I bought some of his books because I want to be a Billionaire. Yeah he is one of the biggest jerks ever and he becoming a President sounds like chaos but we can't deny he is a successful businessman. I wanted to share a story that came from his book "I want you to be rich" On that book he shared the tragic story of a business person who failed 6 times. There was a Businessman who started a Soda product named 1-up. 1-up failed so he decided to change the name of his soft into drink 2-up. People still didn't buy his soft drinks. He also tried names like 3-up,4-up and 5-up and guess what no one still dared to buy his soft drinks. For one last attempt, He named his Soft drink 6-up and the business still fails. He gave up and he might have committed suicide. Years later after his business closed, Someone else made a Soft Drink named 7-up and it has similar taste to his soft drink but it became a huge hit and a successful seller. Imagine if the guy who created 1-up to 6-up didn't gave up and created 7-up, He might have been successful after all those failures. (Video has nothing to do with this discussion, I just needed a thumbnail)
You need to watch it few times to understand it...

I did not know about that. Is that true? If it is true, then the message is nice because it motivates people to work harder and not give up.

I am not sure if it's true but that story kind of helped me with my life because It reminds me what giving up can do. If we give up, something meant for us will be taken by someone.

What is incredible is the fact that we had a drink in Italy with the identical taste since the beginning of 1900. In fact we were surprised by the success of this one, a very well known taste.

@CaptAlbertWhisker The oldest, most famous and that it still producing the product is the Spumador. It was founded in 1888, near Como, a few kilometers from the Swiss border.

@CaptAlbertWhisker It is inviting at the beginning but has a twisted ending which I think is why it got rejected. Never give up. I think like any businessman he has had his share of failures but might not admit it.

@Bluedoll She wanted the 7-up on her own. Back to the topic, I remember when Trump launched a brand of Bottled water with his face on it.

@CaptAlbertWhisker perhaps 7up may still not be called 7up. maybe 8up. cos perhaps the person who succeeded with 7up improvised in a way he didn't think of. but well, he may succeed on the 8th attempt?

@XinfulThotz Business is a mysterious game. I had seen successful restaurants with undelicious food and failed restaurants with delicious food.

I have some of Trump's books and I'll probably buy more. I'm hoping that people will be selling them off cheaply .

@CaptAlbertWhisker well why would you call Trump a jerk. Well, you have narrated a wonderful journey of 7 up that at least I could have ever wondered about. It`s patience and persistence that leads to successful business.

Some business people had experience success in old age. Most people give up because they were in a hurry to succeed.
