Well, the roomie and I started working on getting the media room better organized because someone wanted a copy of a fanzine she put out. This was quite an issue because there were boxes on boxes in the way. The main part of this was from when we discovered a leak in the roof and S came over, moved stuff out of the way, cut a hole in the ceiling where it was moldy and fixed the hole. After we determined that the leak was fixed, he fixed the ceiling - including putting up insulation. I have been slowly filling in the space he had open, mostly from when Maggie moved in June, but some other stuff. So, I moved some of her stuff into the "play room"/guest room so I had some room to work. I also found the fanzines she wanted sold, and moved those into the front room so we can catalog them for sale. Then, because I knew most of the stuff of mine was crafty stuff, and I couldn't sort the roomie's stuff, I put her in the guest room to sort her stuff. When I was done, there were two boxes to go to Goodwill and DD's computer monitor that we hadn't been able to get at until today. The roomie managed to consolidate boxes so that when we were done there were 3 empty boxes. Another box just went out into the trash. But, all that work, and I did 90% of the heavy lifting since the roomie had to do the sorting, since all but one box, and even some of that one, was her stuff. I got her to go from 2 partial boxes of DVDs to one very full one. From 4 almost full boxes of cds to 2 and most of a 3rd ones. And 4 boxes of books to 2, with a partial one for her great-nephew and great-niece. Some of that stuff is in the car for Goodwill, or Savers, or... whatever... but most of it just needed to be better packed. Now, in the media room I repacked the boxes, so that they are better stacked and solidly stacked. About 40 or so of them are VHS tapes she's had for a long time, we had been planning to put them out in one of the sheds, but then we had to move Maggie and her stuff went into the space. And I didn't get to the boxes on top of the tapes, because they were in pretty good "stack-age." There was one space I put stuff in, but that was because I just wasn't going to be pulling that stuff off at this point, there is only so much energy and I was running out. At 3 I said we were going to have to quit. She had gone through the boxes and I had run out of most of my steam. She kind of made a little protest, and I said: "What have you had to eat today?" "Coffee." "Me too, I need to eat." Honestly, she doesn't get hungry, she had a gastric bypass. I, on the other hand, tend to go low blood sugar, and when I do, well, I get nasty. I could feel the blood sugar dropping, but I wasn't at the shakes yet. I had gotten a drink, but that had mostly served to remind my stomach that it was still waiting for breakfast. (Now, I didn't get up until 10:30 so it wasn't like I had been up since the break of day.) After we ate, I knew that we still needed to finish what we had started. No, I'm not talking about those boxes I hadn't looked at yet, I'm talking about putting away those boxes that she had left in the guest room. What was the concern about those boxes? Well, we are going to have to go in there and clean, then we are going to be storing her dialysis supplies in there. So, we HAD to get those boxes out of there. On the other hand, the roomie did find a "Lois and Clark"/my universe story I wrote back when it was a new show. Actually not a bad story either, if I do say so myself... We were thinking about if we felt up to going to the Festival tonight when the sky opened up with a mighty BOOM! So, no festival for us tonight...

I hate the final part of cleaning up. I am just beginning to work on my crafter she shed. Putting stuff in better stacks, etc. It seems we run out of steam long before we run out of work. We also had BOOM before I even finished mowing the front yard.

We had one BOOM before it started raining, but it was a promise of things to come.
