What scared you most as a child

Not sure what scared me most.In my days it was the black out during the war time.The second world war.All lights were out .My house was in darkness.
People walking around.Waiting for the lights to come back on.
I was home alone at that time.Everything was pitch black.Not sure how long the black out last?The house was dark and spooky.Imagine this as a child.
What scare you the most and anyone remember the black out in the forties?

I wasn't around during the forties so I wouldn't know. As a child I was afraid of the dark and dolls coming to life to hurt me

The Vietnam War. I was just a kid at the time. Also the Abominable Snowman on Rudolph.
