What Relaxes You?

There are so many things that can be relaxing to us and sometimes it's not things but places, etc. For me, one of my relaxing things is to sit and watch fish in an aquarium. I used to have a 20-gallon aquarium with all kinds of fish. At night, I would turn off the lights except for the light on the fish tank and while listening to music I would watch my little fishies. I have had some fish give birth while in my tank. So fun, fascinating and relaxing to watch. I hope to be able to get another aquarium once we move into a house. In the meantime, I think I'm going to get a Betta and buy a small tank for it to sit on my office desk. Bettas can be quite personable and I have had many in the past. What relaxes you? Do you like watching fish? *The picture above is a Betta and is from Pixabay

I love to sit and watch the koi in our fishpond outside, between watching them and listening to the waterfalls, I am always relaxed out there.

I have an aquarium in our sala with gold fish, its only 2/3 full so falling water from the overhead filter makes a relaxing stream like sound when it drops and the fishes want to go there, very relaxing

@cacay1 Aquariums fishes is one of the easiest pets to maintain, just get a good filter and water change once a week, just choose a hardy fish like guppies and mollies.

Wow, that's a beautiful fish . So it's called a Betta . It's the first time i saw a blue fish like that , that have a fan like sides . We also used to have an aquarium in our house when we were not yet requested to transfer at my in-laws' house . Like you , when i want to relax , i would go to the receiving room at night with the lights out and the lighted aquarium only giving a light , and watch the fishes swim . I think it's Gold fish that we have . It's so relaxing indeed .

@simone10 So you mean they have different colors . Wow ! But that blue color is amazing to me . It's not a common color for a fish .

The Betta is pretty common here. They sell them at Walmart in a lot of different colors. I have had Goldfish before also and they can be relaxing to watch too.

We have an aquarium at home and it is very enjoyable and relaxing for me to watch it. Others may find it weird, but I don't find it boring. I heard that it can be helpful for people who have the high blood pressure. In fact I like to watch movie when I want to have a relax. I like it.

@simone10 In fact my blood pressure is a little bit low. I wonder whether it means I have looked at the aquarium for a long time

I don't think it's weird at all because it relaxes me too. I can believe that it would lower blood pressure.

Soft music relaxes me. Meditation does if I am stressed. Closing my eyes and going to some place tranquil and beautiful is relaxing. The smell of lavender is also. I think that fish tank could be as well.

@celticeagle Will it get better the more I practice? It seems as soon as my mind relaxes, I start thinking about things and what needs to be done, etc. I like some flute, violin and celtic music. I need to find one that soothes me.

My hubby once had an aquarium in his painting atelier. It was a very relaxing thing to watch but then it made me hungry too seeing the fish swimming. I know, it´s funny but it is true.

Hey such a nice relaxing hobby you have actually. Even I love fish and once I had aquarium in my house but now it is not. Watching fish at night with music is really a wonderful choice to relax. I usually listen to some melodies and watch movies to get relaxed.

I find watching my fishes quite relaxing too. I just started with a goldfish then I bought Betta and few months later I got 120 liters aquarium. Aquascaping it or just feesing and watching my fishes relaxes me like nothing else. Ill try adding some music in the mix
