Auto or manual

I am looking to buy a car for myself and weighing up if I should get a Auto or manual. Also thinking of the brand of car. I have decided to get a small hatchback car. I have gone to a few auctions but not really the right cars yet. Any suggestions on what brand and the advantages of what car you'd buy would be much appreciated?

Do you know how to drive manual also? For me, I prefer automatic. It's easier and since there's a lot of traffic now a days where I live driving manual wouldn't be convienent. My boyfriend on the other hand prefers manual. It's up to your preference and depends on your commute. As far as brands, where I live buying a Japanese car I find maintaining the car is more affordable and the cars are reliable, lasts long. Good luck with your car search! My boyfriend has a Honda Civic SI and we share the Honda Accord. Both are great cars and decent gas mileage too!

I tend to stick with GMC or Chev as they are easy to get the car parts, and cheaper to fix. I perfer automatic as I find it easier to drive in the winter.

Go for manual . It also improves your mental power. It keeps you active throughout. This is a kind of mental exercise.

It's my goal to learn to drive manual. Right now all I've owned is automatics. I have heard that manual transmissions are more reliable. That said, I have never had transmission problems ... good luck! I hope you find a good deal.
