The First of October Already!!

My how times flies!! Here it is the first day of October! Soon it will be the holidays and then the new year!! Seems like yesterday, the new year was 2000!! We're already 16 years into the 2000's!!
Anyway, I haven't been on the site much lately because I'm canning. Last years tomatoes I ended up just freezing them. So I did some research and you can do the same with frozen tomatoes as you can with fresh or canned tomatoes. I even made a batch of spaghetti sauce that we have ate. It turned out pretty good, so yesterday I made and canned 3 quarts of spaghetti sauce.
Today I'm going to season my tomato sauce with chili seasonings, as we like to eat chili in the winter. If I have any left, I'll just make some plain tomato sauce. This way, I can use up all those frozen tomatoes and make room for this years crop!

I used to do a lot of canning as did my mom and grandmother before me. THen I read where you could freeze just as well. I've been doing that ever since. What a relief! Used to have a vegetable garden and froze a lot of stuff. Now I don't.
