Baby Brother's partner posted a photo on Facebook on Friday of two spankingly brand new cars. They bought one each. I - jokingly - commented {and this is just paraphrased as my memory is appallingly bad}, Nice old man's car on the left. Is that a poverty spec Jaguar on the right?! Oh. The drama. I received a text from Baby Brother. Apparently I upset my Bro-in-Law. I know it was a joke. We need to rectify the problem. He's really stressed. It's been an emotional day. Yackity-yack. Blah-de-blah. My reply? Not sure why he was more offended than you. My entire life is stressful. His next text assured me that he understood that his text about his partner being upset had made me upset because I didn't really understand what I'd said to upset anyone. Still following? If someone can afford a glossy brand new Jaguar - even a poverty spec one {do you think I touched a nerve?} - then there was nothing in my comment to offend. And if you're going to post bragging pictures on Facebook then you can't just expect people to offer admiration and gasps of wonder. It becomes no different to posting something along the lines of, I'm so sad ... simply because you want people to give you sympathy. Honestly, if I got Husband to tell people every time they upset me with a comment on Facebook I'd have very few friends left. I'm still fuming. I mean ... really?! Just delete my comment, you numpty! Or sleep on it and if you still find yourself offended in the morning, tell me then. Yourself. You're a big boy. Okay, fuming more now. I do get myself riled up over nothing. Just like my Bro-in-Law, by all accounts. *grin*

Maybe, but it's a tad weird because he's not really the sort to either brag or get offended.

I'm very glad that I've had the sense to never go near Facebook. Honestly if people just want to show off they deserve whatever they get.

I know. I rarely post on it and mostly don't comment. But I was joking and he can usually take a joke. All that money spending lost him his sense of humour. *sigh*

He's usually really laid back. I just think I hit a nerve without meaning to.

Personally I'd always go for a fully loaded high spec cheaper brand than an entry level "luxury" brand...like when I see caymans I think nice porsche but you're obviously too poor for the 911

Absolutely ... and if it's too expensive to buy brand new, buy a second-hand one!
