What brings you happiness?

We have different definitions of happiness. I have asked some of my students and each one of them gave me a different meaning. For some, happiness is being able to eat their favorite foods. Others depend on their happiness with other people like their family, or boyfriend and girlfriend. While for some, happiness depends on what is within their inner self. How about you? Are you happy this day?

I think "happiness" and "love" are two most commonly used yet misused words. e.g. I love parents, love food, love God, love myself, love you. etc... it's not the same love is it? Happiness as a word has the same kinda use/misuse here xD

@annierose the greeks actually have different words to describe different types of love. Agape, philia, eros, storge.. different emotions altogether you will find. well, same principle can be applied to happiness, the happiness of eating good food is not the same as achieving a career goal. so ya, we can't use the same word to describe this multitude of emotions

I am happy. I think your perception of happiness changes as you age. I am happy I don't have a life-threatening illness, that there is no huge tornado heading our way - and that I don't have to cook dinner tonight! :)

There are so many things in this world that can give us happiness. It could be the people around us or the different things that we can see or maybe it could also be money. But I for me, real happiness is only felt if we have inner peace. Inner peace because we are free from problems, burdens and stress.

I'm happy to be alive. That's one. If it's about the elation, I guess i'm having a stomach full of happiness because I get to do some of the things I love to do
