Yesterday , I posted about the cousin-in-law’s intimate birthday celebration , last Sunday . Since , we are just the closest relatives , the talks really gets so animated , that after some few hours , the table was cleared and was set for the snacks . And because we had so much fun of the gathering it was decided that a joint birthday celebration of the cousin’s sister whose birthday is on Nov. 3 and her husband on October 28 , will be done on October 30 , Sunday , so everyone is free to attend . The theme : Halloween , so we should have some paraphernalia for the Halloween when we come . Wow, I still have to scout for a Halloween paraphernalia at a department store . It’s the first time I attend a Halloween party . Somehow , I am excited . So. usually what do you have for a Halloween costume ?

I hope you have fun finding your costume and having that party. I don't do anything. It's been a while since I participated in Halloween.

Just wear a face butterfly mask, my friend, then use a very red lipstick. I think that is nice to look at on you.

I don't wear a Halloween Costume, when I worked I wore Halloween socks to work but that is about it, since I was a kid.

@BelleStarr Oh i see . This is what is nice with having friends here from all over the world. We learn a lot of things we don't actually do in our own country like occasions and traditions .

This sounds great, a Halloween-themed birthday. I don't think I've ever dressed up for Halloween but there are lots of great costumes around. I would probably want to wear something Victorian, like the 'Woman in Black.'

It sounds fun! You really have good life and food always, with family members and friends around. I have not really celebrate halloween before, not having any costume for it too. I would like to be a witch. Hope you will enjoy the party!

I must agree that it is true . And that's because in my side as well as my husbands we always would celebrate even with simple foods birthdays and whatever other occasions and relatives would always be invited . Just like you i haven't also experienced a Halloween themed party . I guess i would be a witch too , because that;s what i plan to buy and i think most comment in department stores

our age is an exception now to get those scary costumes for Halloween, but if it is required, how about donning a black gown and wear long black wig, and put on so dark (black) lipstick, shades of the Addam's family. you are mestisa, my lady, and when you put black lipstick, that will shine against you white complexion.

But i am not buying a costume like that . Perhaps just the black hat and black lipstick . I am even thinking of just wearing the long gown i wear when i dye my hair , then put on a dark witch hat and black lipstick .

@SIMPLYD hmm, now with my wild imagination, i can already see the outcome of you in that Addam's family Halloween costume. yes, a tall witch hat. don't bring a hard broom anymore. your looks will be definitive already.

I had a mask, a very frightening one, which I used some years ago to scare children! ha ha ha! There are so many of it in the mall, or you can make your own from available materials in your home.

I usually just be myself on Halloween because it's scarier that way. lol. Kidding aside, I'd like to wear some devil costume and put on a formal suit above it. But I still need to look for it.

Really , you find it that way . That's a costume , i don't get to see in malls . Usually , they are of zombies . That will be a nice costume .

I live far away from the culture of Halloween. After reading so much about Halloween on MyLot, feels like I want to celebrate it as well..! :D BTW, its really good that time with family is spent with so much of lively atmosphere! :)

Yes, i know that because our culture doesn't celebrate that . Us we celebrate the All Saints Day and all Soul's Day , Nov . 1 & 2 , respectively . Gatherings with only the relatives around can indeed be the most enjoyable ones . The sharing of stories can be non-stop .

We don't celebrate Halloween in China but because there are foreigners staying and they have the traditions, we are somewhat introduced to this. Once in a while we will have children all dressed up in different costumes come knocking at our doors for treats and we will just offer whatever is in our fridge like candy sweets or chocolates. My family finds it fascinating and a good tradition for the young. It is also beginning to become more commercial where businesses will use the occasion to promote their businesses. So discounts everywhere and set menu promotions are the main events.

Here too , the people don't celebrate it , except for those malls and subdivisions who celebrate it with the Trick and Treat . The malls take advantage of the occasion by having those decorated activity areas of them , so those Halloween products of theirs will be bought .
